Blood hematocrit reduced significantly in the omega-3 fatty acids group at the end of week 10 compared with baseline (p < 0.05), whereas the reduction of blood hematocrit in the placebo group was marginally significant (p = 0.06; Table 3 ).
FISH OIL:
Results. 45 subjects (25 in the omega-3 and 20 in the placebo group) completed the study. No significant changes were observed in blood hemoglobin, serum iron, TSAT, and required dose of intravenous iron in either within or between group comparisons
