Been at this since the early 90s. Competed locally for a long time, now just train for quality of life and strength. The biggest mistake I still see advanced guys making - running compounds on top of a broken programme. The gear amplifies whatever you are already doing. If the programme is suboptimal the compounds make that worse too, just with more side effects. Fix the training first. Progressive overload, adequate frequency, eating enough. The compounds then have something to amplify. Seen this play out hundreds of times over 30 years.

Amen to this. Been training since 88. The compound over a broken programme failure is the one I see most often. Guy starts a blast, doubles his volume overnight, does not eat enough to support it, wonders why he is not growing. The gear does not fix bad programming. It punishes it faster by adding recovery cost to junk volume. Fix the programme first. Eat enough. Sleep. Then add the compounds and let them amplify something that is already working.
