View Full Version : Halo as a pre workout in the gym, not just contest week, who is actually doing this and what dose?

Always thought of halo as a peak week only compound but a mate swears by popping a tab before his heavy pull and push days just for the strength and aggression hit. Anyone here actually running it like a pre workout rather than saving it for a show? If so what dose are you taking and how long before the session, I am guessing something like 10 to 20mg an hour or so out. And how many times a week before the liver and lipids start screaming at you, because running a strong 17aa oral a few sessions a week sounds like asking for trouble. Keen to hear from people doing it in practice not just repeating the theory.

Worth adding - the tendon point is important. CNS and strength spike fast on halo but the connective tissue does not keep up. Seen a few guys pull something chasing a PR they had no business attempting. Keep the form honest and leave a rep in the tank.

Halo is exactly that - an aggression tool for the session, not something to run daily. 10mg an hour before a heavy pull is plenty. Watch the lipids if you use it more than twice a week and keep the form honest - the strength feels unreal but the tendons are not keeping up with the CNS drive.

the tendon thing is the bit people ignore. the strength feels so good you start adding weight every session and the connective tissue cant keep up with where the CNS is. seen it end cycles early more than once. keep the form honest and maybe leave a rep or two in the tank on the heavy sets, the halo will still deliver without ego lifting your way into a tear.

I keep a few halo tabs purely for heavy pull days, 10mg about an hour before and the aggression and grip strength is noticeable, gets me through the top sets I normally grind out. I never run it daily though, its a strong 17aa and it wrecks lipids fast, a couple of sessions a week max and thats it. The trap is the CNS drive runs way ahead of your tendons, the bar goes up faster than your joints adapt so keep your form honest or youll tear something. Get a lipid panel and stay on your fish oil if youre using it regular.

i keep halo to a couple of big sessions a week, 20mg about an hour out on a heavy pull day. the aggression and strength spike is real no question, but its brutal on lipids being a strong 17aa oral so running it daily for weeks will wreck your HDL. the trap is the CNS strength jumps faster than your tendons adapt, thats how guys tear stuff ego lifting on it. keep form honest, run fish oil and get a lipid panel if youre using it regular, and have your AI sorted since youre stacking it on a test base.
