View Full Version : Planning my first proper cut, how do you actually lay the compounds and the diet out together?

Coming off a long off season bulk and Im finally ready to run my first proper cut, but Im getting stuck on how to actually lay it all out. Every log I read has people picking compounds in isolation, test prop here, a bit of mast there, an oral slotted in at the end, but nobody really explains how the gear timeline and the diet are meant to line up. Do you set the deficit first and slot the compounds around it, or build the cycle and match the diet to it? Ive put on a decent base of size this off season so the last thing I want is to crash it and lose half of what I built. For those of you whove done a few, how did you structure your first real cut with the compounds and diet as one plan rather than two separate things?

Biggest thing is get the diet locked before you even think about the compounds. Test prop as the base at 100mg eod is a good shout, short ester means you can bail fast if sides hit, and save the mast prop for the back half once you are actually lean, it does nothing visible at 15%. Chuck a var or winny in the last 6 weeks to finish the look but run fish oil, the orals tank your hdl. Keep the deficit modest as well, a slow cut holds way more muscle than crashing it. Leave tren well alone for a first cut, the sleep and mood will wreck a diet you are still learning to run.

Diet and cardio do the fat loss, the gear just holds your muscle while you sit in the deficit. Keep test as the base, add the mast in once you are already lean or it does nothing you can see, and don't rush it. A slower cut keeps far more size on than crashing it.

To reinforce a point already made here, the diet and cardio do the actual fat loss, the compounds just preserve muscle and harden the look while youre in a deficit. Keep the deficit modest and youll hold far more muscle than crashing it hard. And leave tren out of a first cut, get one clean one under your belt before reaching for it.

Get the priorities straight first, the diet and cardio do the actual fat loss, the gear just holds onto your muscle and hardens you up while you're in a deficit. Keep test as your base, plenty drop to prop around 100mg eod on a cut cos the short ester keeps water and e2 lower and you can bail fast if sides hit. Save the mast for the back half once you're already lean, running it at 15% bf does nothing you can see. If you want an oral to finish the look, var or winny at 50mg the last 6 weeks, just run fish oil cos they'll tank your hdl.
