View Full Version : How much liver support are you actually running on an oral heavy blast, does TUDCA earn its place?

About to run a drol kickstart into dbol mid cycle and the question of liver support came up again. Been hearing everything from "TUDCA and NAC are essential" to "just keep the oral short and don't bother". Curious what people here are actually doing rather than what the theory says.

My current setup is 500mg TUDCA split morning and evening plus NAC at 600mg twice a day. Runs fine for me but I'll be honest I've never dropped the TUDCA to see if the bloods look different without it.

Thing is I think people confuse what TUDCA actually does. It's a bile acid, it's addressing cholestasis. It's not making a toxic oral safe. The real protection is keeping the 17aa to 4 to 6 weeks max and staying off the booze. The TUDCA helps the markers but it doesn't change the underlying load you're putting on the liver.

What are others running and have any of you actually compared bloods with and without it on the same oral?

Worth adding if you are checking AST and ALT within 48 hours of a hard leg session the numbers will look worse than they are. Muscle damage raises both. Either time your bloods away from heavy training or factor that in before panicking about the reading.

Lipids take more of a beating than the liver on most oral runs and half the guys running full TUDCA aren't even tracking HDL at all.

Fish oil 4g plus a day and actual cardio moves the lipid numbers. Drol will tank your HDL regardless of how much TUDCA you stack. The TUDCA handles the bile side, nothing you swallow protects the cholesterol picture from a harsh oral, that comes down to dose and duration.

Run a full panel, not just AST and ALT. If your HDL is sitting at 25 by week 4 the answer is cutting the oral, not adding more support on top.

Good discussion. The mirror and scale barely moving while the tape changes is exactly what a recomp looks like. Most guys bail too early.

One thing that gets overlooked is the lipids. Orals trash HDL way harder than they damage the liver for most people, especially winstrol and var. You can have AST and ALT looking reasonable and still be running HDL into single digits. Run the full panel, not just enzymes. Fish oil 4+ grams a day and keeping cardio in through the oral run matters as much as the TUDCA for overall health.
